Technical Specifications
We built our device from off-the-shelf parts and tuned it for the special purpose of running our software to make accurate measurements to our servers in the cloud. For those who are curious the device is made up of the following:
Data Usage: Our tests are lightweight (about 14Kbps, less than a VoIP call) and run continuously. Over the month the device will consume an equivalent of watching one HD movie (less than 5GB). So if your internet connection has tight caps (e.g., broadband over cellular), you may want to hook up the device periodically to test quality and turn it off at other times.
