- CONTINUOUSLY MONITOR YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION: NOT based on speed tests or pings - uses advanced TCP and UDP testing to detect connectivity and performance issues in near real-time. Obtain information on connectivity interruptions, packet loss, delay variation and overall degradation.
- TROUBLESHOOT YOUR NETWORK: Review the history of outages and degradation. Troubleshoot and segment issues in your network, even when you lose internet connectivity. Get a visual status of your network connectivity from across the room.
- TRACK IoT DEVICE CONNECTIVITY: See when essential IoT devices are offline and when they are back online. See the pattern of online activity by device.
- NOTIFICATIONS: Receive alert notifications for internet degradation, unknown devices joining your network, essential devices dropping off, etc.
- SECURE AND EASY TO INSTALL: No special skills or router configuration needed. Just plug the device into your router and you are ready to go (after completing the registration). Following a strict do-no-harm presence on your network, there is absolutely NO ARP spoofing or ARP cache poisoning, NO interference with normal DHCP operation, NO changes to standard routing, NO inspection or processing of user data, and NO configuration changes to your router
Who is it for?

Technical Notes
Low data usage The tests are lightweight (about 14Kbps, less than a VoIP call) and run continuously. Over the month the device will consume about the equivalent of watching one HD movie (less than 5GB). If your internet connection has tight usage caps (e.g., broadband over cellular), you may only want to use the device periodically when you think you are experiencing issues. No interference with your network Following a strict do-no-harm presence on your network, there is absolutely NO ARP spoofing or ARP cache poisoning, NO interference with normal DHCP operation, NO changes to standard routing, NO inspection or processing of user data, and NO configuration changes to your router. |

Hardware and Software
*Because monitor-io is never in the data path AND the testing requires very little bandwidth, it can easily support any speed home network (even 1 Gbps or higher). |
From the Review in Ars Technica (article here)
"I'm a very senior sysadmin with a hand-configured Linux router, a wide panoply of tools ranging from netdata to ntop-ng to nagios, an "enterprise-lite" wired Wi-Fi access point system, and more. Despite all that, Monitor-IO managed to offer me useful insights into my Internet connection and local network that I didn't already have and would have to work pretty hard to duplicate. For a $100 IoT gadget, that's pretty impressive." - Jim Salter, Ars Technica
